Thank you for taking the trouble to look at my site. Going back on the road as a soloist is quite a recent thing for me. I tried it out in my local a few weeks ago and it went very well, so I thought 'what the hell'. I had a great time, so here I am.
I have been in and out of groups and bands for quite a while. Probably over 30 years on and off. I like all genres of music and I think that is reflected in my song list. Everything from country to rock and pop music.
Married to Helen, we have four grown-up children (I have two sons Paul and Stephen) and Helen has Stephanie (Stef) and Daniel. Stef and Nick have produced five grandchildren. We have quite an extended family. Not forgetting of course, Herbie, our Labrador.
I drive a lorry for a living and transport Volvo cars nationwide. I do enjoy the look on customers faces as I present them with their new cars. I cover many miles each week over the four corners of England, Scotland and Wales. Playing my music at the weekends helps me to unwind and relax. I enjoy it very much.
Update! Changed my job. Now back on large goods vehicles, night trunking. Also, getting together with John Watson (from Shades) to form a duo. Watch this space!
Below are the items of equipment I use for my gigs.

The powered mixer delivers a max of 800 watts in bridged mode. 2x400 watts into 4 ohms and 2x260 watts into 8 ohms. It has onboard digital effects which cancels the need to have to carry an effects processor.
This is the 75watt floor monitor I use. |

The speakers can handle 300 watts each and are more than capable for most venues, particularly pubs and small clubs. I also use a 75 watt powered floor monitor speaker (above) which is great for hearing where I am supposed to start singing! |

Using backing tracks in Mini-disc format is a cinch with this machine. it has a ps2 socket on the front panel to connect a standard PC keyboard to allow easy titling of tracks. It has many features, but I like the auto cueing of tracks. It makes it so easy. This is the Tascam MD 350. |

This Behringer parametric equaliser is great for getting just the right sound you want. It 'sweetens' everything up and helps to eliminate feedback. It also has a two valve stage which 'warms' the vocal up a treat. |
